• Since there is no absorption by water (OH group) (1.4 μm, 2.2 μm, 2.7 μm), it can be used in the lens of near-infrared analyzer.

• Gem sapphire is made by mixing metal ions such as iron and titanium into natural sapphire crystals.
• Artificial sapphire crystals are colorless and transparent.
