• Determine the operating length of the pin to be less than the nominal length: 0 · 145 inches for 3/16 pins, 0 · 176 for 1/4 pins, 0 · 224 inches for 5/16 pins, and 0 · 25 for 3/8 pins, respectively. The diameter subtracted from the nominal length is related to the size of the Klevis pin to which it fits.

• Imperial sized clevis pins and fixed clips are made of mild steel and gloss galvanized for corrosion resistance.
• However, the soft steel retaining clip retains its shape.
